It is nice to see Windows 7 finally roleout, PC users have been patiently waiting for all the bells and whistles. The fact that Vista had such bad public opinion may pay big dividends for Windows 7 users. What do I mean? Microsoft was forced to listen to the average computer users who had problems or wanted what used to work ( to Work!). One of the best features I like about Windows 7 is improved ability to run legacy software in XP Service Pack 2 mode. The whole redesign was a great thing, Windows DVD Maker, The Calculator (You'll See). I was happy with early beta versions of Windows 7 working with large amounts of hardware. My customers can expect quicker PCs with faster turn around on repairs/recovery because fewer drivers are needed to be installed initially on systems.
Yes, it really does run faster. Under the hood things do seem more efficient than Vista Ultimate on the same machine. I find the desktop environment to have many features that save me time. More efficient computer code and improved work performance is a PLUS. I'm sure numbers are coming soon to show benchmarks, here and there. When you consider some of the visual improvements along with speed, it's impressive. Items in the taskbar are visible while hovering over them.. Like a MAC ;-) . It really does help though! The desktop theme's of United States, LandScapes, etc. are cool. The bubble screen saver is COOL, but why are there never more cool screen savers in WINDOWS? The sound scheme's are interesting, I like the guitar one's.
The one thing that the Linux community knows is that by releasing software to users for input, improves the overall speed of the project. Errors are discovered sooner and developers are able to progress at a faster rate. Microsoft decided to release its beta to allow the community to contribute with feedback, instead of code. They then followed with the release candidate program. The RC Program allowed users to try Windows 7 until March. FREE!
I would also predict that Windows 7 will now allow the Business sector hope of upgrading in the future.
