Custom-BuiltPCs.com released a cross platform multi-touch desktop environment with 30 built-in applications.

Ironton Ohio based computer company Custom-BuiltPCs.com released CBPCDESK Nov 6th 2014. This will allow users of any

type of computer or tablet to run a full multitouch desktop environment on Microsoft Windows 7,8, & 10,

Apple OSX, Linux, and Android operating systems.

The CBPCDESK software comes with 30 preinstalled applications to take full advantage of the new desktop, plus the ability to access any programs installed on you computer regardless of operating system, and easy access to user files. Most operating systems have been based around point and click interfaces for around 30 years. Newer computer screen technologies allow for as many as 10 inputs to be read simultaneous or multitouch to be used, however little has been done with this technology until now. CBPCDESK will allow users to use on screen gestures, keyboard, mouse, touchscreen, or voice recognition to operate computer/tablet. 

The desktop environment also simplifies software development for Microsoft, Apple, and Linux by using a common

programming language throughout and reduces development costs by as much as 60%.  Smart page management allows simultaneous access to all programs running on the desktop allowing users the ability to work faster and smarter.  There are eight easily accessible full High Definition desktops to open applications and use as workspace.

This was a large scale project requiring approximately 13 months of software development to complete, over 30,000 lines of code, and 390MB of supporting files. The lead project developer was Matt Massie, graphics designer Don Smith, documentation and beta testing James Roach, sound sampling and sounds Terry Rowe all employees of Ironton Ohio based Custom-BuiltPCs.com. Matt Massie says “This will have a huge impact on the future of how our users interact with our computers.” CBPCDESK will be installed on all touchscreen computers sold exclusively by Custom-BuiltPCs.com this holiday season.
